Undergraduate, postgraduate, research, and transfer applications can follow different processes at the same university. Find the requirements for your course and the country where you earned your previous qualification. Check subject prerequisites, minimum grades, portfolios, interviews, work experience, and any professional registration.
Do not assume that a grade conversion found elsewhere is the university's own policy. If the equivalence is unclear, ask admissions to assess the specific qualification. Save the official answer with your application notes.
Create a document checklist you can track
List the documents the institution actually requests. These may include transcripts, graduation evidence, a personal statement, references, a CV, and language-test results. Note whether translations, certification, direct submission by a referee, or a particular upload format are required.
Check language-test type, score components, accepted alternatives, and validity for your intended intake. Requirements for admission and immigration may differ. Avoid submitting identity or financial documents to an unofficial intermediary merely to receive a university list.
Track more than the application deadline
Record the date, time zone, intake, and source for each deadline. Scholarships, accommodation, portfolios, auditions, and deposit payments may have earlier or separate deadlines. Some programmes close when places fill; rolling admission does not mean unlimited time.
Work backwards from the earliest deadline. Allow time for transcript requests, translations, tests, references, and technical problems. After submitting, keep your confirmation and check the official applicant portal for requests and offer conditions.
Treat an offer as a document to review
Read every condition, fee schedule, deposit rule, refund policy, and acceptance deadline. Confirm the exact course, campus, duration, and start date. Admission does not itself grant permission to enter or stay in a country.
Before accepting multiple offers or paying deposits, understand the consequences under each institution's terms. For uncertainty about immigration eligibility, use the responsible government authority or an appropriately qualified adviser.
