What the current site asks for
The current site has no login, application form, newsletter signup, payment collection, advertising, or analytics tracking. It does not ask you to submit your name, email address, passport, academic records, or financial documents.
Search filtering, shortlist choices, comparisons, and budget calculations run in your browser. Search terms and filters are also placed in the page URL and may be present in browser history or hosting request logs. The application does not send these inputs to a Uni Listing database. Adviser messages have a separate server-processing flow described below.
Shortlist and comparison storage
The site uses your browser's localStorage under the key uni-listing:shortlist:v1 to remember the identifiers of universities you save or add to a comparison. This is browser storage, not an account, and it does not sync across devices.
Selections remain until you remove them, clear this site's browser data, or your browser deletes the storage. Anyone using the same browser profile may be able to see them. Private browsing or storage restrictions may prevent persistence. You can use your browser's site-data controls to remove the stored data.
Budget inputs are used for the calculation on the current page and are not stored by the calculator after the page session ends.
Student adviser messages
When you send a message, the browser sends it and recent conversation context to the Uni Listing server. Without an AI connection, Local guide mode uses deterministic matching against the bundled university data and sends no messages to an external language model. The application server does not log or persist chat text; the browser keeps the conversation in memory for the current session. In-memory request limits use connection information to limit excessive requests.
When NVIDIA NIM is configured, current text, recent user and assistant messages, and relevant catalogue records are sent to NVIDIA to generate a conversational reply. NVIDIA's free Developer Program endpoints are used for this development preview. The adviser identifies the configured provider before you send. NVIDIA's trial disclosure states that inputs and outputs may be recorded to provide the experience and improve its products and services, including AI models. Review NVIDIA's privacy policy for its processing practices.
OpenRouter free remains an optional alternative when NVIDIA is not configured. In that case the same conversation context goes to OpenRouter and the free model provider it selects. Those services apply their own processing, location and retention policies; review OpenRouter's privacy policy. Uni Listing does not switch providers automatically after a failed request.
A provider failure can return a local reply after your message has already been sent externally. The displayed response mode describes how the answer was produced, not a promise that no external processing occurred. AI replies can contain mistakes; university recommendation cards use bundled records, and application requirements should be confirmed with official sources. Do not include confidential information, passports, financial documents, health information, passwords or other sensitive personal details in adviser messages.
Climate requests
Detailed profiles include bundled historical climate data. When regional climate is requested for a directory institution, its listed coordinates are sent to the public NASA POWER service. These coordinates identify the selected institution, not your location. Uni Listing does not ask for browser geolocation for this feature. NASA receives ordinary connection information associated with requests to its service and applies its own policies.
Cookies and technical requests
The application does not set tracking or advertising cookies. Loading the site still makes requests to the server or hosting provider. Depending on the deployment, that provider may process technical information such as an IP address, requested URL, browser information, and time of request for delivery, security, or logs.
The public hosting provider, its processing locations, logging settings, and retention periods have not yet been selected and documented. The operator must review and describe those arrangements before launch. Browser-side storage does not mean that no technical data is processed anywhere.
External websites
University and other official-source links take you to third-party websites. Visiting them is subject to their privacy notices and may reveal ordinary connection and referral information to those sites. Uni Listing does not control their content, cookies, forms, or data practices.
Your choices and requests
You can remove shortlist items within the tools or clear the site's browser storage. There is no Uni Listing account to delete in this preview. Rights relating to any server logs or future personal-data processing will depend on the applicable law and the operator's arrangements.

If you email us
When you contact us, your email provider and our Gmail provider process the message. We receive your email address, name if included, and the content you send. We use it to answer your request, investigate corrections or address rights concerns. Email is separate from the browser-only shortlist and calculator.
We retain correspondence for as long as reasonably needed to handle the request and any applicable obligations. You may ask about or request deletion of your correspondence through the contact address, subject to applicable requirements. A hosting-specific retention policy will be documented before public launch.
Changes to this notice
Before adding accounts, analytics, advertising, contact forms, or other data collection, the operator must review the data flows, legal requirements, and notice. The date above identifies this draft notice; it does not represent legal certification.
