Know which sources to trust

Use university pages, regulators, and government portals to check courses, recognition, and destination requirements.

Match the source to the question

For curriculum, fees, and admissions, start with the institution's current course page. For immigration, use the destination government's current guidance. For recognition and professional practice, use the responsible education or professional regulator. A single website rarely has authority over all three.

Use an independent directory to discover possibilities and organise comparisons. Verify the decision-critical facts with the organisation responsible for them. A functioning link alone is not proof that every detail is current.

Check the institution and the exact course

In Australia, CRICOS lists providers and courses registered for overseas students studying on student visas. Check the precise provider, course, and location rather than relying on a name match. In India, the University Grants Commission is a starting point for university recognition; particular professions and programmes can involve other regulators.

For European qualifications, ENIC-NARIC national information centres can help identify the relevant recognition process. In the United States, EducationUSA explains the study-selection process and points applicants toward accreditation research. China Scholarship Council's portal is useful for its scholarship programmes, but a scholarship listing is not a universal statement of professional recognition.

Keep the context attached to every number

A fee needs a currency, academic year, programme, and student category. An entry score needs a qualification system and intake. An employment statistic needs a population, period, and method. Without that context, apparently comparable numbers can describe very different things.

When two sources disagree, compare their dates and scope, then ask the responsible institution. Keep a note of unresolved differences. Do not turn an old brochure or a search-result snippet into a current guarantee.

Recheck before a commitment

Rules and costs can change between your first search and your acceptance. Recheck admission conditions, funding, course recognition, immigration requirements, and refund terms before paying or booking non-refundable travel.

No university directory can guarantee an offer, scholarship, visa, job, or professional licence. The aim is to make the next decision with a clear source and a clear understanding of what remains uncertain.
